I do a lot of crosswords puzzles, and sometimes they're a tad frustrating. One of the reasons I stick with it is probably because I like making marks on paper with a nice pen. At the end of most puzzles, I kind of celebrate my accomplishment by freestyle drawing these wierd characters in the blank spaces of the puzzle page. They're "id" run amok. All my life, I've had these little misfit toys to play with in the corners of math books, napkins, magazines, whatever, they've made me laugh, kept me company... (I added color later to the scans in PhotoShop)

The last two are honest-to-goodness watercolors. The six before them are larger pen drawings of freeze-frames of movies I was watching. In the olden days of Video, You could only pause for so long before the tape would begin again - this was the time I gave myself to do most of these these quick sketches.
