I haven't been able to do a lot of signage, but when I have, I've loved it. It's working in three dimensions, often with light and texture, often in large sizes—fun fun. I've rarely worked with big budgets (Maine is such a small town). If you ever visit sites that sell trade show displays and the like, this stuff is like creating entire small cities out of graphics: incorporating light, interactive elements, walk-through spaces, etc. This costs a LOT of money to do well.
